Bachelor of Education – External (Secondary)
The Bachelor of Education – External (Secondary) program at Lira University is a comprehensive and flexible program designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in teaching at the secondary school level. This program offers the opportunity to acquire a bachelor’s degree in education while providing flexibility for students who may have work or personal commitments.
The program follows an external mode of study, which allows students to study and complete their coursework remotely, without the need to attend regular on-campus classes. This flexibility enables students to manage their own schedules and study at their own pace, making it an ideal choice for working professionals or individuals with other responsibilities.
Throughout the program, students are provided with a robust curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The program covers a wide range of subjects related to education, including pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, educational psychology, and classroom management.
To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, students are required to participate in teaching practice sessions. These sessions provide practical teaching opportunities where students can apply the theories and concepts learned in their coursework. This hands-on experience helps develop essential teaching skills and enhances classroom management abilities.
Lira University places a strong emphasis on practical application and community engagement. Students are encouraged to participate in teaching practice in local secondary schools, allowing them to interact with students, collaborate with experienced teachers, and gain valuable teaching experience in a real classroom setting.
The Bachelor of Education – External (Secondary) program at Lira University equips graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective secondary school teachers. Graduates are prepared to teach a wide range of subjects in secondary schools, including mathematics, sciences, languages, humanities, and vocational subjects.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible for employment as secondary school teachers in both public and private educational institutions. They will also have a solid foundation to pursue advanced studies in education or related fields, such as educational leadership or curriculum development.
Diploma Holders Applying for Admission Under Private Sponsorship Scheme.
At least a Second-Class Diploma in Secondary Education from a recognised Institution.
