Lira University Lecturers received training in Grant writing from 15th - 17th July 2019. The facilitators came from HEPI-TUITAH program of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), headed by the Vice Chancellor - MUST, Prof. Celestino Obua.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Okaka Opio Dokotum visits Northern Illinois University where he graduated with a PhD in English in 2008. He held talks with the Associate Vice President in charge of Academic Affairs, Prof. Bradley Bond and the President of Northern Illinois University, Prof. Lisa Freeman. Issues concerning building a strong partnership between Northern Illinois University and Lira University were discussed.
Law Development Centre (LDC) officials led by the Director-LDC visited Lira University and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University on 12th July. They also had an opportunity to tour the Teaching Hospital, Faculty of Education construction site and the land which the University has apportioned to LDC. The LDC Lira Branch is expected to begin next year.
Budget Monitoring and Accountability Unit from Ministry of Finance and Economic Development visited Lira University to evaluate the progress of achievement and execution of the University’s Budget for 2018/2019 Academic Year.
E-learning Management System Workshop at Lira University. The 3-day workshop which is facilitated by HEPI-TUITAH team from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is aimed at imparting Knowledge and skills to Faculties/Lecturers on how to develop and administer e-learning materials to students using Moodle Learning Management System. The workshop started on 3rd July and ends on 5th July 2019.
Lira University Private Admissions for A-Level and Diploma Entry Schemes are out. Admission Letters can be picked from the Admissions Office in Public Health Block between 8:00am and 5: 00pm. Online applications in all the Academic Programmes are still ongoing upto 10th July 2019 and appeals should be Submitted to the Admissions Office in writing and Clearly addressed to the Academic Registrar before 20th of July 2019.
