Associate Professor Mary Ejang holds a PhD in Sociology, a Master’s degree in Population and Development and Bachelor Degree in Education all from Makerere University-Uganda. She has 21 years of university lecturing and currently, she is lecturing in the department of Public Administration and management, Faculty of Management Sciences, Lira University.

Administratively, Professor Ejang has been the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Lira University from 2019-September 2025 and previously the Head of Department Development Studies at Gulu University from 2012-2017. Associate Professor Mary Ejang is an experienced social researcher and is passionate about the wellbeing of the under privileged groups of people especially women and the youth. This explains why she is a peer reviewer of three social sciences related journals.

Prof. Ejang is a distinguished scholar, a mentor, a researcher and consultant with proven ethical and professional track record and has widely published in peer reviewed journals in the fields of Social Sciences; Gender and Development, Education and Management. Her recent publications include book chapters titled;

Ejang’s research work has attracted international visibility and she has been rated among Uganda Top scholars from 2022-2025 in the Webometrics Ranking index of World Universities.
