The Faculty of Medicine is dedicated to addressing critical healthcare challenges in the region through innovative medical education, research, and community service. Established to train highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals, the faculty offers a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Science in Community Psychology and Psychotherapy and Master of Mental Health Counseling program, emphasizing hands-on clinical training, public health, and community-based care. Its curriculum integrates modern medical practices with a focus on rural and underserved populations, preparing graduates to tackle prevalent health issues such as infectious diseases, maternal-child health, and non-communicable diseases. The faculty collaborates with regional hospitals and health centers for practical training and actively engages in research targeting local health priorities. Committed to ethical practice and community empowerment, it plays a vital role in strengthening Uganda’s healthcare workforce and improving health outcomes in the region.
