The Faculty of Public Health addresses critical health challenges in Uganda through training, research, and community outreach. The curriculum emphasizes disease prevention, health policy, and community-based interventions to tackle issues like maternal-child mortality, HIV/AIDS, and malnutrition. Partnerships with regional health facilities and global organizations likely support fieldwork and research aimed at improving healthcare access in underserved populations.

Public health focuses on improving and protecting community health and
well-being, with an emphasis on prevention among large groups of people.
Those with public health degrees keep communities healthy through child
wellness, disease prevention, education, disaster relief, clean water,
access to healthcare, and much more.
