Lira City Mayor, Hon. Sam Atul, has praised the Management of Lira University for organising a 3-day Maternal and Child Health Camp that attracted several mothers and children from across Lango sub-region and beyond.
“All services here at the Camp are for free including surgeries or operations…..this is great. The University hospital is doing charity work, giving back to the community that feeds it with students and patients or clients,” Hon. Atul said amidst applause while officiating at the launch ceremony on 15th October 2025.
Hon. Atul added, “But remember, your health is your wealth, guard it jealously through healthy practices and behaviours. Health is made from home, repaired at the health facility, therefore be careful about what you eat and drink, your lifestyle matters.”
The Mayor warned against visiting the mushrooming quack doctors’ clinics for cheap treatment. “Lira University Hospital is comparatively cheap with qualified healthcare workers, better services offered,” he advised patients.
