Lira University Senate is in high gear to finalize arrangements to accredit the newly developed demand driven Academic Programmes.
The University Academic Registrar, Mr. Geoffrey Angela said that the carefully designed courses meet the evolving needs of our society and the modern world of work. “These programmes are tailored to equip our learners with relevant knowledge, practical skills, and competencies required to thrive in today’s dynamic labor market,” Mr. Angela reveals.
As the 21st Century University, Mr. Angela said, we remain committed to producing graduates who are innovative, competitive, and responsive to the challenges and opportunities of our time. “We expect to mount these programmes in the next Academic Year, 2026/2027,” he adds.

Mr. Angela reveals that the academic programmes will equip students with crucial critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills needed for a globalized world, foster holistic development.
If finally blessed by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), Mr. Angela explains, the new programmes will promote lifelong learning, and offer opportunities for professional advancement through networking and specialized knowledge acquisition, ultimately increasing employability and career opportunities.
Mr. Angela asserts, “These programmes also leverage technology, adapt to global challenges, and focus on making sense of vast amounts of information to help students succeed in the modern era.”
