National Housing and Construction Company Ltd (NHCC) and Lira University have agreed to partner in undertaking development projects.
At a meeting held at the Lira University’s Public Health Board Room on 17th February 2026, the teams plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon.
NHCC is a 58-year old entity, first founded as National Housing Corporation, a fully owned government corporation, which was established by an Act of Parliament (Cap 321) of 1964.
National Housing and Construction Company Ltd is Uganda’s leading housing developer and its mandate is to increase the housing stocks in the country, rehabilitate the housing industry and encourage Ugandans to own homes in an organized environment.
Among the NHCC Team members who attended the meeting were Hon. Wanjuzi Wasieba (NHCC Board Chairperson), Eng. Kaijuka Kenneth (NHCC CEO) and Eng. Ambrose Musinguzi. While Lira University team had Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng, Deputy VC (Academic Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Okaka Opio Dokotum, Deputy VC (Finance and Administration), Mr. Hassahya Nathan Hagobi, University Secretary, Mr. Augustine Oyang Atubo, Senior Legal Officer, Mr. Evans Daniel Olwoch, Academic Registrar, Mr. Angela Geoffrey and Deputy Bursar, Mr. Elemu Anthony, among others.
