Dr. Ejang Mary holds a PhD in Sociology with specialization in rural Sociology. She further holds a Master degree in Population and Development and Bachelor Degree in Education all from Makerere University-Uganda. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at the department of Public Administration and Management, Lira University. She also doubles a s an academic Dean for Faculty of Management Sciences, a position since 2019.

Dr. Ejang is a distinguished scholar, researcher and consultant with proven ethical and professional track record and has published peer reviewed journals in the fields of Sociology, Education and Gender and Development in peer reviewed journals. Her recent publications include a book chapter titled ‘Tackling Youth Unemployment with Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) in Northern Uganda’ in Contemporary Social Development Issues in Uganda (2020), William Muhumuza and Staffan Höjer (eds), Fountain Publishers, Pp77-101. She is currently working on a book chapter under the Imagining Gender Futures in Uganda Project.

Dr. Ejang has 19 years of university teaching experience and has lectured in Gulu and Lira universities (2004-2023). She is specialized in lecturing research methodology and papers related to social and development issues. Specifically, she has passion for Research Methods, Population and Development, Project Planning and Management, Community and Rural Development, Gender and Development at Graduate and Undergraduate levels.

Dr. Ejang is an experienced social researcher and is passionate about the wellbeing of young people and gender inclusivity. This explains her recent participation in adolescent reproductive health research in the rural communities in Uganda with a view of exploring the underlying factors for teenage pregnancy among the fishing communities under the International Center for Reproductive Health (CRHT)  and Imagining Gender Futures in Uganda (IMAGENU) research grants.
