Lira University is organising the Second Annual Research Dissemination Conference with Health Minister, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng expected to be the Chief Guest.

The two-day event is scheduled to take place on 6th-7th May 2026, at Education Block with 30 innovators and researchers ready to participate and showcase their talents and findings. The Conference theme; “Research and Innovation for Accelerated Community Transformation.”

Keynote Speakers are Mr. Sejjoba Godfrey, Commissioner, Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Sports and Prof. Eton Maruzi, Muni University.

Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Andrew Ojulong revealed that the Research Dissemination Conference will offer crucial benefits for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers by facilitating the sharing of findings, accelerating the impact of research, and fostering professional growth.

“We are preparing for the event that will serve as a platform for real-time feedback, enabling researchers to refine preliminary work before formal publication. The Conference will be powerful and attract key stakeholders,” Dr Ojulong adds.

On visibility and credibility, Dr. Ojulong notes that presenting research findings and innovations will increase professional visibility and help establish a reputation within a field, which is especially valuable for early-career researchers. “Having high participation in the forthcoming conference will boost the prestige of the Beacon, Lira University,” he reveals.

The VC accentuated the importance of the Conference as it will bring together diverse experts, facilitating connections that lead to future collaborations and partnerships.

“We expect constructive feedback during the conference as Researchers and Innovators receive immediate expert feedback from peers and target audiences, allowing them to strengthen their analysis and improve the rigor of their work,” Dr. Ojulong observes.

The Deputy Director, Graduate Training and Research Directorate, Dr. Udho Samson, said the preparations are in high gear, adding that the Conference will provide opportunities for collaboration in various disciplines, potentially driving innovation and creative problem-solving.

On career advancement, Dr. Udho, also a Senior Lecture at the Nursing and Midwifery faculty says, the Research Conference builds an academic portfolio, providing evidence of active engagement that is recognized by employers and funding bodies.
