Mr. Angela Geoffrey

Mr. Angela Geoffrey is an experienced Higher Education Administrator and Quality Assurance Practitioner, currently serving as Academic Registrar at Lira University, Uganda. Born on 9th October 1975 in Dokolo District, he has developed a strong career in Academic Governance, Examination Management, and Institutional Quality Improvement within Uganda’s Higher Education Sector.

Geoffrey is a PhD candidate in Education Administration and Management at Uganda Christian University, Mukono, having completed all taught coursework for his Doctor of Philosophy programme. He also holds a Master of Education in Policy, Planning and Management; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Studies in Agriculture with Education (Second Class Upper Division), both from Kyambogo University. Additionally, he completed short courses: a Certificate in Teacher Education Proficiency (C-TEP) from Kyambogo University, a Certificate in Administrative Law, a Certificate in Computer Applications, and a Certificate in Data Analysis from Makerere University. His professional development includes specialised training in the 21st Century Quality Assurance Knowledge and Skills for Higher Education Personnel by the Association of African Universities.

Since 2021, Geoffrey has led the Academic Registrar’s Department at Lira University, overseeing examination quality assurance, academic records, curriculum processes, and the organisation of Senate and key academic committees. He organises academic ceremonies, supervises student enrolment and registration, oversees academic policies, and supports research and innovation on behalf of the Senate. Previously, he held the roles of Senior Assistant Academic Registrar (2019–2021) and Assistant Registrar I (2017–2018), gaining extensive experience in examination administration, committee secretariat duties, and staff supervision.

Beyond the University, Geoffrey supports the governance of basic and secondary education as a Member of the Board of Governors of St. Gracious Secondary Schools and as a member of the School Management Committees for St. Gracious Nursery and Primary School and, previously, Elia Olet Primary School in Lira City.
