Ms Felister Apili is a certified Midwife with a Master’s degree in Nursing (Midwifery and Women’s Health) and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science, all from Makerere University, Uganda. She has accumulated over a decade of clinical experience and now works as a midwifery educator at Lira University in Uganda.
Her ultimate goal is to mentor the next generation of innovative and competent midwives who will provide respectful maternity care to diverse communities. She is involved in teaching and research supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students at Lira University. She provides academic leadership to the Midwifery Department, Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Lira University from 2022 to date.
Research interests: She is generally passionate about maternal and neonatal health, sexual and reproductive health, including adolescent health. Felister has participated in several research projects and made a contribution to scholarly work in the field of midwifery. She has also participated in a number of grants. She is currently pursuing a PhD program in Nursing at the University of Western Cape, South Africa.
