Welcome Message from the Deputy Dean
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Public Health at Lira University—a community of scholars, practitioners, and future leaders committed to advancing health, equity, and sustainable development.
Public health is about more than preventing disease; it deals with understanding the social, economic, environmental, and behavioural factors that shape health and wellbeing. Our faculty prepares graduates not only to respond to these challenges but also to generate evidence, influence policy, and lead transformative change in Uganda and beyond.
Our programmes are founded on academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and community engagement. Through experiential learning, research, and partnerships with government, healthcare institutions, civil society, and international organisations, we develop professionals who combine technical competence with ethical leadership, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
Whether you are a student, researcher, partner, or visitor, I warmly welcome you to our faculty. Together, let us generate knowledge that matters, strengthen health systems, and improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
