Lira University Teaching Hospital to lead in the region

Lira University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng has called for a concerted effort amongst leaders and staff of the University so that the Teaching Hospital leads in service delivery in the region.

While addressing the Teaching Hospital Committee of the Council on 12th May 2023, Prof. Ogwal Okeng observed that the Teaching Hospital has acquired several specialised and modern medical equipment. He added that there is a plan to recruit more specialised health service workers in near future.

“The Teaching Hospital will soon be a one-stop center for health care in this region, where most diseases will be treated here. Our plan is big and the sky is the limit,” Prof. Ogwal Okeng reveals.

The Meeting was chaired by Dr Martin Ogwang, also a specialist surgeon at Lacor Hospital, Gulu. He called for team spirit among health staff and others in order for the facility to attract more patients as a result of its effective and efficient service delivery.
