Bachelor of Science in Community Psychology and Psychotherapy

The Bachelor of Science in Community Psychology & Psychotherapy program at Lira University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, theories, and practices of community psychology and psychotherapy. This program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address psychological issues and promote mental well-being within diverse communities.

The program covers a broad range of topics related to psychology and psychotherapy, including abnormal psychology, counseling techniques, group therapy, community development, research methods, and psychopathology. Entry requirements

Direct Entry

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent, at least two (2) principal passes obtained at the same sitting
Relevant A-Level subjects in Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, Economics, History, Divinity / Religious Studies
O-Level (UCE) requirements:
At least 5 passes, including English Language, Mathematics (a pass is required)
Candidates without Mathematics at A-Level are still eligible provided they passed Mathematics at O-Level.

Diploma Entry

A Diploma from a recognized institution in a relevant discipline, such as Community Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration, Community Development, Public Health, Nursing or Mental Health Nursing, Education (with relevant social science background)

Mature Age Entry

Applicants must:
Be 25 years and above
Have passed the Lira University Mature Age Entry Examination
Demonstrate competence in:
        English Language
        Numerical reasoning
       General knowledge and essay writing

  • Thereafter, log in and click Apply now
  • Scroll through to choose the relevant Entry Scheme and click Apply now again
  • After filling in the online form, click Submit
  • To pay application fee, click Pay for Form, and choose from: Airtel MoneyMTN Mobile Money, and Bank
  • If one chooses the Bank Option, a thirteen-digit Zeepay Reference Number shall be generated. Present the number to any bank or bank agent and pay 50,000= plus a bank charge.
  • If one chooses to pay by Mobile Money, the applicant shall be requested to indicate the number from which the money can be obtained/deducted and thereafter enter the Mobile Money PIN.
