LIRA UNIVERSITY GRADAUTES 300 IN APRIL 2021

Lira University is set to graduate 300 students including 13 graduands for Masters Degrees, in a colorful ceremony slated for Friday 9th Aril 2021.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng noted that this will be the second graduation ceremony to be held at the University’s Main Campus in Lira. President Yoweri Museveni is expected to preside over the function.
Prof. Ogwal Okeng was happy to reveal that graduation ceremony is the most exciting time as this is when the university is doing the accountability to parents, guardians and all stakeholders. “We are now serving the public what we have been cooking in the kitchen…our products to serve in different capacities, different areas of the world,” Vice Chancellor explains.
The Vice Chancellor added that Lira University products are very competitive in the job market globally as they (graduands) undergo serious and practical teaching and training experiences. He noted that health students are trained by experienced medical staffs who also work at Lira University Teaching Hospital.
The graduands will receive degrees in the programmes of Executive Masters in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Bachelor of Science in Community Psychology and Psychotherapy.
Others are Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Public Administration and Management.
The Academic Registrar, Geoffrey Angella advised graduands to clear with university departments as early as possible to avoid embarrassment.
Lira University had its first gradauation ceremony, graced by President Yoweri Museveni on 1st November 2019. Justice Odoki, the university’s Chancellor, minsters and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
