With a light knock on the office door, opens to enter and slow movement in, the recently crowned Miss Tourism, Atino Lucky Bianka’s appearance excited Vice Chancellor, Lira University, Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng on 5th November 2024.
The homecoming of Miss Tourism Uganda 2024, Queen Atino Bianka Lucky, was a moment to remember, as staff from offices walked out to have a glimpse of her with passer-by students thronged to hug.
“Waahooo……God is Great! We are happy and appreciate your huge efforts, talents and brilliance that make you climb such heights, the Miss Tourism of Uganda of the year!”, Prof. Ogwal Okeng receives Queen Atino with joy in his office.
Prof. Ogwal Okeng says, “You are contributing to the university visibility efforts as you are the reigning Miss Uganda currently. We have had students successfully participating in innovations and research, winning national and global awards, here you are adding more…….”
Luck Bianka, the 2nd year student pursuing Bachelor of Information Communication and Technology degree course at Lira University was crowned on 19th September 2024 as Miss Tourism Uganda.
The Queen hailed Lira University Management, staff and fellow students for support and prayers. She revealed that her attitude and gratitude had made her shine. She had been fearless and confident as she was being nice to the people who had been nice to her. She is scheduled to represent Uganda in the Miss Tourism International contest to be held in Malaysia on 29th November 2024.
Meanwhile, the Miss Popularity Lira University, Nangiro Brenda, also paid a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor at his office today (5th November 2024). “I won’t stop smiling today, I think the best day of the year….. when my students are doing wonders in this great university,” Prof. Ogwal Okeng says while receiving Nangiro in his office.
Queen Brenda Nangiro, doing Bachelor of Science Education, plans to organise outreaches to sensitize the communities on HIV Aids dangers and how to avoid or treat it. “We plan to visit selected health facilities and communities on HIV awareness programmes. Actually we already started from Lira City,” she explains. She was crowned on 14th September 2024.
