Lira University plans to build multi-Billions structures

Lira University plans to build three multi billions storey structures to boost service delivery at this young institution.

The designs of structures of a 6-floor Main Library block, Teaching Hospital Extension and Faculty of Management Sciences are ready, awaiting for funding by Government and other partners.

The hospital extension is designed with a 232 patient’s bed capacity and has three blocks. Block A has 966 square meters per floor, with a total area of 5,796 square meters while Block B has 904 square meters per floor, with a total area of 6,328 meters. Block C has a total are of 2, 424 square meters. PAF Engineering Ltd was contracted to produce the Designs for the three projects.

The design of Faculty of Management Sciences will accommodate four blocks of faculty Administration, departments of Commerce, Economics and Public Administration and Management.

The University Main Library block has 2,600 square meters at every level, totalling 13,000 square meters. All the structures are designed to use conventional methods of biological and chemical waste disposal, that is septic tank and soak away pits. Hon. Justice Benjamin Odoki, former Chief Justice and Prof. Dr. Jasper Ogwal Okeng are the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor respectively of the University.
