Lira University students actively participated at the World Malaria Day on April 25th which happened in Alebtong District. The Chief Guest was Dr. Micheal Lulume Bukenya, MP for Bukuya in Mubende District and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Health.
Several dignitaries such as Minister of Health, Dr. Aceng Ruth Jane, Bishop of Lango Diocese, Rev. Canon Dr.Alfred Olwa and Vice Chairperson Council Lira University, Hon. Beatrice Amongi Lagada and partners namely; Malaria Consortium, World Health Organization, National Drug Authority and others were attracted to join the fight against malaria.
This event occurs annually as a worldwide endeavor to create awareness about malaria and to raise funds for treatment and prevention of malaria.
