Samson Udho is a certified nurse-midwife from Uganda. He works as a lecturer at Lira University, a public university located in Lira City, northern Uganda. He holds a Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing (Midwifery & Women’s Health) Degree from Makerere University, Kampala-Uganda.
Samson is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His Ph.D. is focused on understanding the social and health systems drivers of inequalities in accessing maternity care among vulnerable adolescents in Uganda.
He is knowledgeable and skilled in classroom & clinical teaching, research, developing a community of practice, grant writing & management, and building the capacity of in-service and pre-service health professionals.
Samson aspires to develop as a global midwifery & women’s health educationist and a research leader in the area of quality of sexual, reproductive, maternal, & newborn care, violence against women, and safe motherhood. His research work is contextually grounded in sub-Saharan Africa among adolescents, women of reproductive age, and persons living with HIV.
